However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The pricing is relatively high, which may be a turn-off for some. Additionally, the turnaround time for results was longer than expected, taking nearly eight weeks to receive my analysis.
Now, if you’re after a DNA test that’s easier on the wallet and gets you results faster, I’d nudge you towards AncestryDNA. I got my results in just 2-3 weeks, and it didn’t break the bank. Plus, they’ve got a massive user database, so you might stumble upon more long-lost relatives. So, while CRI Genetics isn’t bad at all, if you want speedy results and a better shot at connecting with family, AncestryDNA could be your best bet.
How CRI Genetics Works: Taking the Test(s)
Any CRI Genetics test requires a simple three-step process of ordering the test (to be delivered within five days), swabbing your cheek and sending in the sample (in a prepaid package), and exploring your results six to eight weeks later.

The Ancestry Timeline is also presented in a visual way, and gives you the estimated dates that ancestors with different ethnicities entered your family history. This is interesting when viewed in addition to the information in your Ancestry Composition.
If you’re up for even more fun, CRI Genetics will tell you all about the famous people you might be related to on your mother’s and father’s sides of the family. The Famous People report includes famous people from history as well as modern celebrities. Who knows? You could be related to Nicolaus Copernicus!
If that’s not fun enough for you, how about finding out that you’re related to Elvis Presley or Princess Diana? CRI clarifies that “there is still a low likelihood that you’re closely related to any one of these individuals”, but it’s still entertaining to read about these famous figures, even if you’re only very distantly related to them. I found that this was the part of the report that generated the most conversations with friends and family!

Don't believe the hype
Most of the negative reviews are because they can't handle the shock to their reality and the myths that make up their story. That is not a reflection of the science, it is a showing of new data that does not fit the historical record of the conquerors which is a good thing.

It is my understanding that there are many Native Americans/Indigenous people that have not had their DNA and so this skews results for any individual which may actually have Indigenous blood lines because the data just isn't ther...Show More
e to compare. I had a friend whose father is 100% Cherokee and her DNA test did not show that she had any Cherokee DNA. Over time, as more and more people are actually having their DNA tested, the results for her DNA changed and began to show her Indigenous heritage. With you having your DNA tested, this may help open up the results for more people down the line. I hope this helps explain why you test may not show Indigenous results. s for most part. i think people give this a negative review either for the cost or just shock of where they truly come from...the one thing i was a bit disappointed or wondered about is my native background...i mean it shows indian in the test but not native canadian and my mothers father was an indian chief so not sure how that doesnt seem to have registered with a higher percentage..my grandmothers french is on there..my other granmothers Hungarian and granfathers Ukrainian and German wer eon there high...the native to me is baffling i may grab a test form another site see what they come up with.

y Mother's maternal side is 100% Irish and I know that. No Irish ancestry was shown, just English. There is some English, but where was the Irish? My mother is at least 50% Irish, probably more, but not a trace detected. Also, from family history I KNOW we have no Indian ancestry in the 19th Century, or probably in any other Century. I found the results interesting, but not really accurate. Also, I had a real problem accessing their Website, which took weeks to resolve.
Like their work. Results consistent with my family tree and the few surprises made it all worthier. Could improve thier geographical breakdown. Last but not least the support team is very helpful and considerate. 👍

Using its multifaceted methods, i would be inclined to accept CRI -G's report. EXCEPT, i happen to be (even gov'mt in US documents) to be of Ojibway (native american) descent. CRI-G didn't find that. Instead it reported my gene...Show More
tics include 28.4 percent Peruvian or Inca indian. Indians 4000 miles removed from Ojibway lands. Ancestry.com found the Ojibway part of my heritage via family tags going back to the 1600's. I have to admit being confused. I can't really, really buy into CRI-G's report.

y detected ..the eurpoean was pretty accurate..hungarian, ukrainian , and surrounding countries so its quite possible those ventured to neoughbouring countries..as far as Mexico and such that seems a bit out there...maybe contaminated form teh testeer who knows..
